Welcome to Midtown! A Collection of Historic Neighborhoods

Our Mission

Protect & Improve the Quality of Life for Residents in Midtown

Tree Lined Midtown Streets

Formerly the Winn Park/Capitol Avenue Neighborhood Association (WPCANA) - Midtown Neighborhood Association was founded in 1991 to bring residents’ concerns to city leadership and give citizens a voice on issues facing their neighborhood. We were instrumental in creating the Residential Permit Parking Program ensuring parking priority for residents, and continue to be a voice for preservation of disappearing historic buildings. We continue to advocate on behalf of residents and maintain an avenue for neighbors and businesses to present concerns about health & safety, traffic, parking, crime, absentee landlords, and other issues affecting the entire urban core.

MNA is not a homeowner's association. We are an all-volunteer group of residents working to maintain the health, safety, peace and vitality of our neighborhoods. Many thanks to all who give their time and talents.

MNA's Objectives Include:

To serve as a liaison for residents to local government, advocating for policies and actions that benefit residents.

Provide a non-partisan forum for discussion of area  concerns of mutual interest.

Maintain communication within the neighborhood and network with other neighborhood associations on issues including historic preservation, planning proposals, community problems, traffic, health and safety, and other actions that affect residents.

Monitor notices for new projects / development in Midtown neighborhoods.

The Board of Directors of is responsible for acting on behalf of the ssociation.
