Development in Historic Districts

Midtown encompasses several historic districts, including Winn Park and Capitol Mansions. The list of current preservation projects can be found here.  Building in a historic district necessitates special consideration.

MNA strongly supports adaptive re-use of existing buildings.

This photo shows the destruction of an authentic warehouse district near 11 & C Streets in 2008. The real warehouses were demolished to make way for new buildings that will mimic warehouses. Many fail to see the logic of destroying these warehouses.
